Bio

Miles Ronayne is an emerging Irish drummer & composer on the improvised music scene. He has recently completed his final year studying BA Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance in DCU, achieving 1st Class Honors and has performed extensively as part of many ensembles. With a style deeply rooted in Neo-Soul music, he fuses this influence with the complexity of contemporary jazz. His compositions transport the listener into a world of flowing melodies, on the spot improvisation and rich harmonic soundscapes. From playing with esteemed international artists such as Daniel Rorke, Michael Buckley, Linley Hamilton, Cormac O'Brien, Johnny Taylor, Barry Donohue, Greg Felton, Peter Hanagan and Stephen McFarlane to playing at the 20th Bydgoszcz Jazz Festival in Poland in 2022, it's safe to say, there's plenty more where that came from!
